National Museum and other things. (IA5)

When I was younger, my parents would always make sure that I was able to go to all sorts of museums every now and then. I would always look forward to it because being a young girl, anything that was colorful was more than just appealing. I still remember drawing on the walls of our staircase with my jumbo crayola crayons and reasoning out that I was just trying to make my own museum in our home. Sadly, I didn’t get any pancakes for breakfast that week. As I grew older, I became more busy so the trips to museums eventually stopped in order to make room for things like academics and such. I was so happy when I found out that we had to give the National Museum a visit for class because it wasn’t interfering with anything academics related and I actually had the time to go!

The main hall of the museum displayed three things, this statue and a painting I forgot the name of and of course, the ever so famous Spolarium of Juan Luna.
I don’t think I’ve ever been in a museum with such a grand hall to have only three things displayed. (It must be the lack of memory or the choice of museums my parents have)

At first, I was kind of scared of the museum because every where I would look there would be a bust of something or someone out of the ordinary. It was creepy because the lighting in the museum added to the vibe of the busts but after a little bit, I started to have some fun with snapchat!

The lady guard who was watching over the exhibit was looking at me funny. I think she was scared I was going to knock something over since I was all over the place. I didn’t really think the museum would be as big as it was and by all means, was it huge. I got pretty tired by the time we reach the third floor but maybe it’s because my friends kept making me laugh and we were taking a lot of pictures.

The photo above shows one of my personal favorites and I know it’s nothing special but for you maybe. I learned in class that art makes you feel things. It levels the perspective of the artist with your very own perspective. This painting shows a family gathered around their dining hall. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a very family oriented person and they’re the people I miss on a daily basis since school takes up so much time and energy. I don’t see them everyday and I don’t get to talk to them that much either. Dinner time is the only time I do get to talk to them though and seeing this photo made me smile because It reminded me that I have so much to be grateful for. It made me more excited to come home to my family.
I’m glad I was given the chance to visit the national museum again because the last time I was there I could barely spell the word “christmas” right. I hope the next time I get to set foot in a museum I get to go in my free time without it having to do anything academics. Just pure leisure.
