WiMLDS — Bay Area at Criteo: ML in Computational Advertising

When I registered at the WiMLDS x Criteo: ML in Computational Advertising meetup I knew nothing about the subject. What is the Computational Advertising? How does machine learning work with it? I didn’t have time to find out the answers before the meetup, that made it even more interesting.

WiMLDS x Criteo: Machine Learning in Computational Advertising

The first speaker, Suju Rajan is the SVP, Head of the Criteo AI Lab. She presented an introduction to the subject, and told us about all the aspects of performance driven computational advertising her teams works on.

The presentation of the second speaker, Fengjiao Wang, really impressed me. Fengjiao is a research scientist at the Criteo AI Lab. She works on building machine learning solutions that allow to create an information-correct real-world product catalogs.

The last speaker, Diane Gasselin, a Software Developer at Criteo, showed the way as Criteo displays online advertisements based on the user-behavior history.

This was such an incredible experience not only because of new knowledge I got, but also because of a wonderful, friendly atmosphere. It was my first meetup with WiMLDS in Bay Area , and I will definitely attend other upcoming events with them.
