Confessions of a Dance Music Lover

Hi Dance Music Lovers. I am a sexagenarian named Larry Byrd. I have always loved music and dance, even when I couldn’t dance. I am not sure if you remember the scene in the 1979 movie “The Jerk,” where comedian Steve Martin plays an adopted white son being raised by an African American family. In this movie Steve Martin’s character [Navin R. Johnson] has an epiphany while listening to the radio and suddenly he was dancing with perfect rhythmic timing [where previously he didn’t have any rhythm at all].

Now, I’m a house music and salsa dancing machine !!! Notice the clock on the wall is almost 6:00 AM !!!

I attended a concert in 1969 located in Manhattan’s Central Park in New York City with my high school classmate and friend Pablo. The concert featured Sly and the Family Stone. Half way through the concert I looked down at my feet and they were moving in time to the music. I have been dancing ever since that day [mostly house music and Salsa], and I will never stop dancing because I am a Dance Music Lover [DML].
