The First 48 Hours of Having Cancer

Well written. Well lived.
Some thoughts from someone who heard “it’s cancer” back in February:
- Talk about “fighting this thing” is silly. Treatments, yes; positive attitude, no harm. But there are no guaranteed outcomes, only odds flavored with a dash of random. Odds may be altered, but random does what random will, fighting spirit be damned.
- As a member of a generation determined to be forever young and forever alive, this solid hint that we may be mortal after all requires some adjustment. It is possible.
- You now have a gold-plated, signed, sworn and sealed “Oh What The Hell, Why Not?” license to enjoy everything enjoyable. Use it!
Good luck on your treatments and when you have a free moment, give Warren a snide remark for me, please, I haven’t seen him in a while.
