It seems to me the future of this crisis will polarize the people to an extent that could cause not only another civil war, but a failed nation status of lawless chaos where national guards, civilian militias and insurgencies using guerrilla tactics wind up fighting each other for supremacy. As the Japanese Admiral supposedly said “In America there is a gun behind every blade of grass.”
The federal army would be unable to fight and win such an eventuality just like they have been incapable of winning such conflicts starting with the Korean War, through Viet Nam and the current endless conflicts where we continue to lose.
If it were possible to revolt and drag a guillotine up on the Washington Mall to commence chopping heads off offending politicians we might have a slim chance of avoiding anarchy.
