Trump Finesses His DACA Promise
James M. Ridgway, Jr.

This is a brilliant move by Trump. Now the ball is squarely in Congress’s court where it should have been in the first place. There are two possible outcomes.

  1. Congress can’t/won’t pass any legislation.
  2. Congress passes immigration reform.

Either way, Trump comes out smelling like a rose.

If they can’t/won’t pass anything, he can blame it on democrat’s unwillingness to come to the table and make the democrats look silly.

They pass something and he can claim credit for getting immigration reform passed. Which quite frankly, is what he really wants.
