I am 70 and still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

I went to military college because it was free and my parents had no money. They told me I should take engineering because I was good at math. I hated engineering and was never good at it.

I got bored with military and quit. Luckily good jobs were plentiful in the 70's. Got bored after 2 years and quit and got “good” job with government.

Got bored and quit after 2 years and got engineering job with big company. Hated my job. Drank too much, had nervous breakdown, recovered and started drinking again. Fired. Moved on to purchasing manager for large telco.

Bored, drinking, quit on Friday, hired on Sunday by another VP in same telco. Got into organization development because I was interested in releasing the potential of all frontline employees and make their jobs more meaningful.

Company paid my way to attend Pepperdine MSOD. Didn’t like most in house profs especiallyhead prof and quit with one more session to go.

Quit my job and got job as plant manager for small auto parts company. Got bored and quit.

No job. Tried consulting. Couldn’t sell myself. Started drinking more. Financial problems, left my wife, met woman who forced me into detox. 9 mos later ready to work gotjob in retail. Moved out west became cleaner, carpenter, retail again, door installer, started my own company gotbored and walked away. Now work part time as ice maker at curling club. Not bored, always a challenge.

Through all these years I carved ducks, animals etc. Doing more of that now, writing about my Dads war experiences, trying to start blog

Have more work than I can or want to do. Enjoying my life.
