This is an informative list of 10 great games similar to the trendy game “Wordle”. If you enjoy “Wordle”, be sure to check out the interesting information about the game here. Enjoy!

  1. Dordle — The Dordle is essentially just two Wordles. Like Wordle, your goal is to guess the correct five letter word in as few guesses as possible. The difference here is that you get seven guesses, rather than the typical six for Wordle. It is important to note that whatever words you guess are applied to both of the Dordles side-by-side.

2. Quordle — Quordle is the next step up from the Dordle. What this means is that you complete four Wordle puzzles, simultaneously. Personally, I have found that the words in Quordle seem more challenging than words in some of the similar word games. For instance, I feel this one has a higher ratio of words with three or even four vowels, words with double letters, and words that are not as commonly used. The variation with this is that you have a total of nine guesses. Are you noticing the pattern here?

3. Octordle — You can likely assume what the Octordle consists of by now. This is eight Wordle puzzles, wherein you have thirteen guesses.

4. Sedecordle — As follows, the Sedecordle is an challenging sixteen different Wordles, also to be completed simultaneously. With this puzzle you have twenty-one total guesses.

5. A Greener Worldle — This is where the pattern deters a bit. A Greener Worldle is more similar to the original Wordle in that it is only one puzzle and gives six guesses. The difference here lies in the theme of the words. A Greener Worldle focuses on words pertaining to the environment and sustainability. Examples would be words such as Plant, Dirty, Adapt, Ocean, etc.

6. Worldle — While upon first read, you may perceive this to be the same as the original game, this game is actually a geography centered game. In Worldle, each day you are shown a black silhouette of a country. Your task is to type in a country name. Based on the country you select, you will receive guiding information such as the number of miles (or km if you prefer that) away the country you selected is from the country of the day. You will also be shown an emoji arrow, which aims to nudge you in the direction of the correct country from your starting country. Lastly, you will see a number with a percent. This tells you how close you are. Therefore, when you guess the correct country it will show “100%”. I have an article specific to this puzzle where I expand on it further. Be sure to check that out!

7. Heardle — This one is for the music lovers and it is a personal favorite of mine. Heardle has a new song prepared for you daily. You start by pressing play and listening to the first second of the song. You can replay that first second of the song several times before making a guess or “skipping” where you now have the opportunity to hear more seconds of the song. Over the span of a few weeks where I have been playing this game, I have been impressed by the great variation in genre and decades. This is one for everyone!

8. Tradle — The Tradle may not be one for everyone to engage in daily, but I think it is worth mentioning due to the concept and subject of it. Even if it does not become a daily game of yours, I’m sure it will peak someone else’s interest or at least curiousity. With that being said, let’s discuss the Tradle. This game provides information about international trade and country exports. If you like geography and/or enjoyed the Worldle, this is definitely worth a few tries. You are given a colorful treemap of country exports and are challenged with trying to guess the correct country. After your first guess, the strategy options open up a bit, since, just like with Worldle (the geography game that inspire the creation of this game) you get information about the distance, direction, and percent. Therefore, if the premise of Worldle, being that you need to have somewhat of an understanding of the shapes of various countries, is daunting to you, this game may actually be more enticing. Perhaps the topic seems a bit drab, but again, I think it is one worth checking out.

9. Mathler — These last two are for the “math people” or anyone who values challenging themselves mathematically. Mathler is an easier version of Nerdle. The presentation is similar to Wordle in that you are only focused on one puzzle and you have a set number of boxes to fill in with certain characters. With Mathler, you get a number each day. That number is the answer to the math riddle. Your job is to determine the expression of the math riddle. You can use numbers 0–9 and then addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division symbols. You must fill each of the squares and like with Wordle, they will be shaded accordingly to convey correct placement (green), incorrect placement (yellow), or N/A (grey).

10. Nerdle — Finally, we have Nerdle. Between the two math games, I find that the Nerdle is more challenging. If you have experience with both and an opinion about this, please comment your thoughts below. If Nerdle is new to you, let’s talk about. It’s the same idea as Mathler, but with a twist. While Mathler does not allow or require you to include an equal sign, Nerdle requires it. Therefore, you are not given a set answer in the beginning like you are with Mathler. You have to just create a guess and go from there. As a result, you are tasked not only with determining the correct expression (as you are in Mathler), but you are also challenged with determining the answer. I feel that this creates a lot more opportunities for answers, which is a greater challenge for me. What are your thoughts?

I went ahead and created a list of links to each of these mentioned puzzles. Feel free to bookmark this page or copy and paste the links or entire list into your device. I hope you enjoyed this informational piece and that you learned something new from it. I would love to hear your thoughts below about anything said here.
