The Lastinger Center Approach — Pushing the Boundaries of Teaching and Learning

Welcome to the UF Lastinger Center blog! This platform is intended to provide a space for us and our fellow partners to share the challenging, beautiful, and critical work that is being done to champion children and empower educators at all levels. Our goal is to design custom educational innovations for communities, organizations, and schools that truly make a difference in the lives of educators and students. We constantly seek to break the barriers of teaching and learning by harnessing the rich intellectual resources of the University of Florida, incorporating cutting-edge research, and leveraging the talents of and experiences of educators at all levels.

From creating high-impact, high-quality online professional development courses available at no cost to early childhood educators through our Early Learning Florida system to helping over 350,000 students in Florida per year master algebra with our custom-built Algebra Nation platform, the Lastinger Center is no stranger to tackling major educational issues with innovative solutions. And we are relentless in evaluating our impact and making sure that we are truly moving the needle on improving child outcomes at every developmental stage.

Join us as we share stories of those in the field fighting the good fight every day to ensure that every student, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status is provided with the education and opportunities for life-long success that they deserve. Along the way, we will also share stories of our innovations are redefining how teachers teach and children learn, creating more equitable environments for all. We invite you to share your stories with us and we welcome dialogue around what it means to teach, lead, learn within your community and context.
