7 Beverages That Will Help Your Vagina Cleanse Itself Naturally

Did you know your vagina has a built-in self cleaning system? The vagina has the ability to clean itself when it has a balanced pH level, and is regularly secreting fluids that remove the dead skin cells, infection-causing bacteria and other toxins from your body. A balanced pH level for the vagina is around 3.8–4.5. This pH range is a little acidic, which is necessary to prevent infection from setting up in the vagina.

A women’s pH level and vaginal discharge can be thrown off balance due to normal activities like menstruation, sex and/or hormonal changes. These disruptions can easily be fixed by consuming nutrient-rich beverages that will provide the vagina with the proper balance of acid that is necessary to kill off any infectious bacteria.

The list below contains refreshing beverages that can help you balance your pH levels and maintain a healthy discharge to prevent or heal vaginal agitation. Try drinking a combination of these beverages throughout the week, in order to get optimum results.

1) Apple Juice

Apple juice is a rich source of phytoestrogens, a plant based compound that mimics the action of synthetic estrogen. Estrogen is necessary for women because it “activates” the production of discharge, as well as promotes a strong sex drive, skin health and it also speeds the metabolism up.

2) Watermelon Juice

Watermelon juice is great for healing any wounds that may be effecting your pH levels. The citrulline in the watermelon will trigger the production of a compound that will relax the body’s blood vessels, in order to promote good blood circulation to the wound.

3) Coconut Water

Coconut water is known for promoting the release of toxins from the body, but it also helps to fight against infections that may be present in the vagina. The lauric acid that is present in coconut water, is converted into a compound that has proven infection fighting properties.

4) Orange Juice

Orange juice is full of vitamin C. This vitamin, along with other enzymes, helps to reduce and prevent the infection-causing bacteria that promotes poor vaginal discharge.

5) Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe vera juice can help with ailments that can be psychological in nature like vaginal dryness. Drinking aloe vera juice regularly promotes the production of vaginal discharge by soothing the neurons in the body that encourage relaxation.

6) Lemon Water

Lemon water is great for promoting vaginal health because it increases lubrication in the vagina which allows secretions to be released and the acidic nature of the lemons will also help to maintain the vagina’s pH level .

7) Cranberry Juice

Cranberry juice is also acidic in nature like lemons. Consuming a few acidic beverages is healthy especially if you’re diet is high in alkaline(non-acidic) foods. The vagina is warm, closed-in and moist, which is the perfect place for infection to set up without the proper amount of acid to fight against it.
