With the ‘Ready Boost’ option available in USB properties, it is possible to use your Pendrive as RAM. As you insert a ReadyBoost-compatible Pendrive into your PC, you will see an option to speed up your computer using ReadyBoost in Autoplay dialog box. Select this option if you want to use your USB as RAM and provide all the details it asks for.

Here is the step by step procedure on how you can transfer your Pendrive into RAM. However, you can enable or disable this feature as per your necessity.
- Plug your pen drive to your Computer (pen drive should be at least 1 GB or if you having 4 GB then its better)
- Allow PC to detect pen drive and install it properly
- Right click on the My Computer and select the properties
- Go to advanced and then performance setting then advanced
- Select pen drive and click on custom size “ Check the value of space available “
- Enter the same in the Initial and the Max columns
- Now restart your pc and enjoy your fast and super system
This trick does not affect your PC if you are using high configuration or if your hard disk uses Solid State Drive (SSD) technology. You might also get some notification saying ‘ReadyBoost is not enabled on this computer because the system disk is fast enough that ReadyBoost is unlikely to provide any additional benefit.’ Moreover, your flash USB contains both slow and fast flash memory, but ReadyBoost can utilize only fast Flash memory space.
