Short and Sweet

Yes, the title could describe me, as I’m only 5'3, but that’s not the topic…well maybe it is…

As I have posted, the last month has been very taxing on me with taking my doctoral comprehensive exam, being sick, and of course the normal work/life stresses on top of it all.

BUT! It all paid off today as I found out I passed my exam! I am now officially a doctoral candidate! This has been a long time coming.

However, now the real work begins as I enter into the dissertation phase. If I stay on track I can be finished in January.

Over the past two years in this program I have often been overwhelmed and been tempted to quit. But, thanks to good friends that have kept me on track by being honest with me (sometimes brutally) and giving me their advice such as, “You can either do it or not…it’s your choice.” Or “Quit making excuses”…I have chosen to stay the course.

Thank you to those friends. I’ll need you even more the next four months :)
