One day, in November 1999, a boy was born. November is always a hope for the child to still be able to celebrate the small things in his life and make sense of every step he takes. Then still hope to meet the next November.

November 2023 brings him at the age of 24. An age where crises and searches for identity continue to occur. This journey at the age of 24 will be a journey towards a quarter century of his life. He knew, many things had happened. A downturn in social life, the first failure in his life, thoughts of suicide, his decision to go to college, new friends, first girlfriend, first heartbreak, graduation, first steps towards real life, searching for identity again.

Several moments in his life made him question every decision he made. “Is this wrong? Isn’t this something I should do?” But in the end he arrived at the age of 24 years with a lot of struggle. A struggle that he must continue to do. Whatever it was, the decisions he made had brought him to this moment.

The song 24 by Sundial more or less represents his life at the age of 24. Sundial seemed to have had the same experience as the child. Still at his parents’ house, some of his friends were married, others had children. Feeling that it was just yesterday that life was a child. Losing direction and not knowing exactly where life will take him. This child still doesn’t know what will happen when he reaches the age of 25, exactly a quarter of a century he has lived in this world.

At the age of 50, when he finally enters half a century, this child also doesn’t know whether he will still be here or “there”. While he was still permitted by God to be here, his journey to reach half a century of his life must have been difficult and full of struggle.

The journey is still long and he must keep going. But you know what? he did the best in his life. He could only hope that whatever happened in the future would not be too disappointing, either for himself or for the people around him. God will always help him, right? because God knows, but this child doesn’t.

Written at the end of November, this article is a reminder for this child that whatever happens on the way to the next November, just relax and enjoy your journey!!
