International Women’s Day 2017 Live

8.30am — Networking Breakfast
Good morning from Launch22 HQ!
With food courtesy of The Moon and Pea, International Women’s Day has kicked off to a great start with many local ladies having a natter and praising our paper flower decorations, beautifully crafted by startup business Rainprops and Roses.

10am — Yoga
If you prefer a more relaxed approach to the mornings, our early yoga session led by Mairi Mayfield might be for you. She’s even managed to rope in a few members of our team to get involved!

Mairi, originally from Cambridge, studied in Liverpool and has advanced her yogi skills over the years.
“Initially I sought yoga as a means to de-stress and reduce anxiety,” she explains, “Over time I discovered the benefits that came from learning to connect to the breath and find space in the body, using these skills to help quiet the mind.”

Mairi claims she found yoga and meditation also beneficial in aiding her creative process as an artist, as it clears the mind to make room for fresh thoughts and new perspectives.

Her mid-morning workshop is perfect for yogis of all levels, from beginner to expert. Namaste for International Women’s Day!

11am — Meditation
Spreading positive vibrations across Launch22 HQ today is our very own mentor Pauline Moran, leading a meditation workshop.

Pauline Moran is a naturopath, a practitioner of holistic natural therapies to promote self-healing. Originally involved in art and design and moving into therapeutic art, she discovered meditation a few years ago and after experiencing its health benefits instigated the move into natural medicine.

Meditation has become the new craze in recent years but there are many forms of meditation from deep transcendental to 10mins mindfulness. Pauline’s class has an informal relaxed set-up, she discusses the benefits of meditating 10–20mins a day and shares her thoughts on positive energy, and gives her audience time to explore meditation for themselves.
