I worked for a company where you had outdoor days as a means of encouraging employees to take time off and spend it doing something outside. We also had outdoor experience days where the intent was to plan an outdoor activity with your fellow team members. It was a nice way to promote exercise and time outdoors and overall “escape-the-cubicle” mentality.
