hi, Kevin. I applaud you for your commitment to helping people with depression. As someone who experienced it, I’m sure you understand just how debilitating it can be. One of the skills I learned in dialectical behavioral therapy is praising yourself when you do small things, like brushing your teeth or eating a healthy snack or going to bed on time. We berate ourselves when we *don’t* do these things, so why not praise ourselves when we do? These small self-care behaviors are so so difficult when we’re depressed, and it can be so hard to battle those voices telling us we’re not good enough. Small moments of authentic praise and affirmation can go a long way. Good luck with your research!
