At the risk of going transparent (!), authenticity — understanding it, embracing it, living it — has been a lifelong pursuit for me. Revealing this linkage between my personal quest to be authentic AND fear of not belonging + ongoing maneuvers to fit in (often at the price of giving up something important to me), really illuminates the matter.
Over time, the four intentional practices that Katherine mentions — mindfulness, self-reflection, forgiveness, self-acceptance — have all helped to unveil my authentic self.
Feeling fluid and clear throughout my body, and settled in my core, are recurring signals for me of being more present in my own authenticity.
