Bilingualism

Listening to Dr. Peter Lloyd Jones of MEDstudio@JEFF talk about using design to solve tough health care problems reminded me how much I appreciate bilingualism. I especially admire those who are fluent in left brain and right brain disciplines. A major motivation for pursuing an MBA at Wharton was to figure out ways I could combine design and business to make the world a better place.
It was exciting to hear about scientists and clinicians collaborating with creative professionals to fix our broken health care system. I’m inspired to consider how to bring my whole self, both sides of my brain, to the Next Thing. If Dr. Jones isn’t afraid to do the hard work of connecting across broad disciplines, why should I be?
[MEDStudio@Jeff is an “anti-disciplinary agency focused on the design of health and human dignity.” I heard Dr. Jones speak at a Creative Mornings PHL meeting this summer. Billed as a breakfast lecture series for the creative community, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t find these monthly meetings interesting.]
