A scrappy person who is driven does not rely on titles or defined responsibilities
Why I Hire People, Not Skills

Every single company should be fighting for employees who don’t just succeed at their given tasks, but are willing to go after tasks that need done and can present them a challenge. Over the years my favorite coworkers have always been those who were always willing to jump in and just do something because A) it could be done B) it needed done C) it challenged us to do it… even when it wasn’t in our job description.

I don’t so much consider it scrappy, as I consider it being passionate about your job. I’ve never seen anyone who is passionate about their job look at a task and say “well it’s not on my job description” and walk away. Instead, they are always the people going above and beyond- because they love what they do.
