Upgrade Your Tuesdays
When it comes to making it through day to day life, many people are feeling overwhelmed. Polls have found that employee stress levels are at all time highs, and people’s levels of fatigue have risen dramatically since before the pandemic.
When life is rough, we often fantasize about big things, like quitting our jobs, or maybe taking a six month vacation. Perhaps those might be wise moves for some. But since life is lived in hours, the biggest happiness payoffs come from focusing on the experienced moments of day-to-day life.
Upgrade your normal Tuesdays, and you can make life as a whole better. Fortunately, there are some very doable ways to do just that.
That’s what I discovered while researching my new book, Tranquility by Tuesday: 9 Ways to Calm the Chaos and Make Time for What Matters, which is on sale this week. I chose “Tuesday” for the title because Tuesday is the most normal day of the week. There are no typical days, but if you ask someone to describe a typical day, Tuesday is highly likely to be it.
This matters, because our lives are lived on such normal days. If we’re holding out for the weekends, or vacations, or some nebulous future when life will calm down, then we’re missing a lot of life. I don’t want anyone to wish their Tuesdays away.
