I am a career changer and I chose to become a Software Engineer because I want to build and create amazing products.

One of my goals is to become a great developer. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I soon found out that women are very underrepresented as developers in the tech industry and that there’s little guidance as to how to actually become a good engineer. Yes, there are plenty of resources on google about how to do things but in terms of planning how to learn, organising concepts, the tech culture, why to stick to it and how to keep going.. I found little information available.

I started to become active in the tech community because I found that there was no real voice for “ordinary people” switching to tech. By speaking at tech events and by becoming a tech writer in my spare time, I found small ways to help the tech community by explaining what I’ve learned and how I’ve learned it. Of course, what I say may not be valid for everyone but even if it helps some people, I believe this is sufficient.

I don’t just want to write articles.. I want my writing to encourage women, minorities & people in general that you can become a software engineer without coming from a technical background and that your previous experience (work, life) and soft skills can more than compensate for your lack of technical knowledge.
