Thank you, John Ennis, for acknowledging the bullying that those of us who refuse to vote for Hillary are enduring. Bernie WAS forced to make that endorsement; he was clearly threatened. It wasn’t something done voluntarily or strategically.
What people are missing in your analogy is the concept that “no means no.” It does not mean maybe, or “convince me,” or “I’m open to changing my mind.” Those of us committed to Bernie or Bust stated over and over that we will NOT, under any circumstances, vote for Hillary, a person who represents everything we oppose and are fighting against. She chose the big money and the Wall Street speeches, so she is already bought and paid for, by the very corporate oligarchy we have spent over a year opposing.
Furthermore, as you clearly note, she did NOT win the primaries; she cheated her way to the nomination by massive voter suppression in state after state. She has already made it clear that she will ignore progressive with her choice of running mate. In many areas, she is more right wing than Trump. And she has the nerve to take progressives’ votes for granted; then whine about how we won’t “fall in line” behind her and hire online trolls to endlessly harass us.
Holding the fear of Trump to our heads like a gun is an act of terrorism, and some of us refuse to give in to that. We refuse to vote for someone who represents nothing we believe in. For her election fraud alone, Hillary should be arrested and criminally charged. Then there is the whole Clinton Foundation, which evidence over time is showing to be a slush fund and front for money laundering from foreign countries, especially oil-rich ones like Saudi Arabia.
I have not only lost friends because of my opposition to Hillary; I have had trolls harass me on Facebook and Twitter, and Google has informed me of multiple attempts to hack into my gmail account. Hillary’s campaign doesn’t seem to realize they cannot bully us into supporting her.
I’m not only voting and campaigning for Jill Stein; I plan to actively do everything I can to see Hillary the corrupt cheater defeated in November. No nose holding here, not now, not ever. And I’m not doing this to help Trump; I’m doing it to oppose injustice and blatant corruption. If enough people reject the worst major party candidates in history and vote for Jill Stein, she could actually win.
