Appreciation series: How I Krashed into an amazing life in Boston
Have you heard about this AWESOME startup called Krash?

I just had lunch with my new BFF Eric at an amazingly delectable place called Tatte in Kendall Square.
Before that we were working at his office, which his boss so nicely let’s me use when I wish.
It may be the gorgeous weather or maybe it’s the divine cheesecake cup topped with fresh strawberries I just devoured that is making me feel so elated.
While I think it helps I don’t think it’s the reason I am feeling so lovely.
My gut is telling me it’s due to extreme gratefulness for my life and the people in it right now.
Last week, I began a series I’m calling APPRECIATED in which I share my gratitude for a certain person or, in this case, a company, each week or whenever the moment of inspiration hits me.
Right now, I’m feeling a ton of love and appreciation for a startup called Krash.
In February, I relocated from Florida, where I lived my entire life, to Boston, where I had only been once. I relocated for a job that, fortunately, did not work out.
Before I moved my old boss suggested I stay in a shared living space for entrepreneurs and creatives, i.e. Krash.
At first I was unsure.
Did I really want to live with all these random people?
What if they were completely different than me?
It’s so far from the T…. I hate commuting.
Wah. Wah. Wah. Boy, was I good at generating excuses as to why I should not live here.
In the end, I gave up the fight and moved into a beautiful Krash house in Porter Square.
Eric is my floor mate. That’s how we met — through Krash. I had someone to enjoy lunch with today because I stayed at Krash.
I had somewhere nice to work today because of a connection (and BFF) I made through Krash.
Is that why Krash is so awesome?
Because I have a new, AMAZING friend?
It’s a great reason because Eric’s awesome, but it’s far from the only reason.
Rohan is another reason. Each one of my housemates is another reason why I love Krash.
There really isn’t anyone I don’t vibe well with and genuinely enjoy hanging out with — which is a good thing since we do not have a television.
Krash does an impeccable job at picking the right group of people, who mesh so insanely well with eachother.
If you get into Krash, I can guarantee you that you will love the people you live with. It’s a given.
Wait, there’s more…
Ask me how Or why I’m still living in Boston even though I no longer work at the startup I moved here for, and I will tell you it’s because of Krash.
Krash isn’t just a place to live and make friends at. It’s a hidden gem of a network. Each week it holds events, which have landed me job referrals at some of the coolest companies.
I have been freelancing since I parted ways with the company I worked at previously, and a good number of those jobs are products of someone in my new network introducing me to someone, who had plenty of work for me to complete.
There is no way I could ever fully compensate Krash for the doors it has opened for me here in Boston, and so, instead I just hope to help someone, who is on the fence about Krash, make one of the best decisions of their lives by deciding to join THE community.
I am getting a bit sad thinking about leaving Krash this weekend to move into my new apartment, but then I remember this is a place I can always go back to once I leave.
That’s all I’ve got.
Thank you, Krash, for jumpstarting my new life in Boston.
❤ Lauren
