Not So Sing-Song-y

Like a little girl skipping through the aisles of a grocery store,

A woman with inflections across as many octaves as Stevie Nick’s dreams.

Garnering a reaction somewhere in between adoration and annoyance.

Where witnesses want to accompany the singsongy melodies and are upset that actually they cannot.

They cannot skip because of arthritic ankles and they cannot sing since their hearing went tone deaf years ago.

So instead of sharing in the joyous demonstrations they curse them. And her.

And go on their way a bit grumpier than before.

And that is why women and girls who want others to be happy should keep their enthusiasm to themselves.
