Ever wonder what some of the most famous artists of the Renaissance era would look like today as the 21st century’s most angsty, wealthy, and quite frankly HOT young men? I’m sure you weren’t, but let’s just dive into the world of possibilities anyways.

CARAVAGGIO

I’m not saying that Adam Driver, the face of Star Wars’s Kylo Ren is the photocopied modern day version of Caravaggio or anything, but that is exactly what I’m saying. Although Carravagio was raised a rich city boy, his parents died from the ecoli outbreak at Chipotle when he was little, and then orphaned to other wealthy relatives. Eventually, he internshiped with the best artists in New York City. Yet during his peak of rebellious adolescence, he engaged in numerous brawls, even wounding a police officer, fleeing to America. Sound like someone else we know who has a lot of angst? Luckily, this artist put his violent tendencies into painting instead of trying to destroy and rebuild an entire empire at once. Today, you can find Caravaggio in his minimalist, dark, weirdly silent apartment contemplating his next move.

RAPHAEL

Famously known for his infamous series of Madonna’s, you probably thought Raphael was so artsy that you were too intimidated to talk to in high school because their instagram feed farly surpassed yours. He grew up in a city where a fine arts education was encouraged, maybe New York, and worked at his father’s art studio. Little did you know, Raphael’s father died when he was only eleven, and he took over the workshop to carry that legacy. Raphael’s empathy for the human experience, which he learned through losing his beloved parent, has carried through vastly in his work. He is now known for some of the most elaborate pieces visually and mentally, such as School of Athens and Transfiguration. You can find him now in his Portland Oregon apartment, artwork and books covering every inch of wallspace, tarot cards and crystals sprawled all over the tables.

MICHELANGELO

Based on his art, this is the guy you probably noticed on the streets of Los Angeles sneakily taking pictures of girls on the street, but you know, not that sneakily, you did notice. He grew up privileged, but not clean cut and straight edged. As a teenager, he was the class troublemaker, and didn’t pay attention to school. Although Michaelangelo’s parents mostly allowed him to get away with anything he wanted, they wouldn’t just let him end up unsuccessful. They even got him a job with the Kardashians, doing graphic design for their brands, and the artistic genius we know today was born. He now resides in his luxurious and overly modern penthouse in West Hollywood, spending his money on more booze, escorts, and raves in one weekend than you could spend in your entire lifetime.
