
So how does Peper make time in his busy schedule any kind of reading, let alone a sprawling, 640 page book like The Bone Clocks? “We all have more time in our lives than we give ourselves credit for,” he explains. “I’ll listen to an audiobook and maybe read for a few minutes before bed or while I’m eating breakfast. I think there are a lot of these open moments in our day that we’re not really cognizant of. People might fill them by checking Facebook on their phone or watching a short Netflix show.” In the end, Peper believes we can can all choose to use more of this time for reading. “All of those are choices that we make about how we want to best spend our time,” he says. “I just try to be self-aware about those choices and spend quite a bit of time reading books.”
