The things we value the most rarely have a matching price tag. We are so busy climbing whatever ladder stands in front of us, that we do not even pay attention to which wall it is leaning on. We have all heard stories of those executives buried with work, only to end up divorced, estranged from their children, financially insecure, alcoholic with suicidal thoughts. The pursuit of money is a goal that ultimately distracts us from cultivating what we truly desire.
