Maintaining a 3.887 GPA at Marquette University, Student Athlete, Charlie Lyon, has been nominated for Men’s Soccer Senior Class Award. His school accomplishments, character, community service, and competition are just four topics that make him Charlie Lyon- a nominee for such a prestigious award.

School.
Throughout his four years at Marquette, Charlie has maintained an astonishing GPA of 3.887 which got him on the Dean’s List. Charlie was selected as 2013–2014 Big East Conference Mens Scholar Athlete of the year. In conjunction with that, he was the sole men’s soccer recipient of the 2013–14 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award and also was a three-time Big East All-Conference Team selection.

Community.
Charlie Lyon is not just an outstanding athlete, rather a community server as well. He has passionately been serving his community since arriving at Marquette University. In 2012, he traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to work in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity to re-build tornado-ravaged homes. A year later, he took another huge trip, but this time it was to Haiti. In 2013, he worked on a campaign that raised $31,542.50 in just three months. He provided “MobilePack” event for Feed My Starving Children organization. Along with his national service, he also volunteers weekly around his Milwaukee community which includes Milwaukee Humane Society, participation in Marquette Hunger Clean-up, and lastly, but not least, he volunteers at a local senior center.

Character.
Charlie Lyon is not just an athlete, but an athlete involved in many organizations. Lyons is the athletics representative on Marquette’s Student Health Advisory Board. While serving on the board, he promotes healthy lifestyle choices on campus and raises awareness of the health services the university makes available to its students.

Needless to say, Charlie Lyon is something else. He stands out in the classroom, community, and his competition. With everything that has been said, this is why Charlie Lyon deserves to be a nominee for the Men’s Soccer Senior Class Award.
