Out of all my years being a student, I can honestly say the most creative and thought provoking assignment I was given is actually occurring right now.

The task itself sounds simple. Re-create an existing logo. However, when you dive into starting, it does not come easy.

The beginning process is hard because I need to come up with a logo that doesn’t necessarily need reconstructing, but could look better in my mind.

Logos are created to draw attention and gain remembrance from its clients and for the most part they are all simple, yet catchy and creative already. So the hard part is finding that one logo I want and think could be reconstructed better. Once I find the existing logo, there are multiple steps to create the new one.

Color is probably the most important element of a logo. Every color in the color wheel represents a feeling or emotion to the public.

Take Starbucks, for example. The main color is green, which is earthy, and it also represents recycling. This company strives to reuse and recycle materials and to find new ways to lower the amount of water and engery they consume.

Then there’s the typical business color, blue. Almost every business has the color blue in their logo because it represents dependability, trustworthiness, and security.

Color represents all that a company wants to portray out loud. Re-creating a certain logo is challenging because the color that was originally used, was chosen for a reason.

By starting this project I’ve learned that creating logos is not as easy task, let alone recreating one that already exists.
