You know, I saw a promotional teaser for the reboot and completely rolled my eyes. So did my Hispanic software engineer husband. I don’t think that anyone got the memo that MacGyver is a an 80's trope.
A reboot is good, but not when you don’t acknowledge that the recipe needs updating. You don’t see us sitting around eating shrimp cocktails anymore! Similarly, no one is interested in seeing a white man solve all of our problems with a paperclip.
