Hi Mark!

Thanks for providing your update and dilemma. I have been a freelance writer and editor for the past 16 years, and write for a number of large publications and Fortune 500 companies, so I have a number of years of experience to draw from. Personally and professionally, I appreciate the way that you and your partner have managed and run LocalSolo. It is a good, but not overcrowded site, for freelancers and employers to connect — plus there is no fee involved, or the hassle of having to jump through all kinds of hoops to make the connections. But I understand the need to keep the site growing. I like the idea of the revenue share; another option might be to treat your employer partners like a headhunter would. Instead of paying a monthly/annual fee, employers pay a percentage or fee to LocalSolo each time they make a connection, hire and pay a freelancer. Previously, I used Elance — the format and ease worked well. Once they were bought out by and merged with Upwork, the format did not work at all. There were too many added requirements and the employers that trolled and posted on the site were not vetted or monitored. I pulled my profile. I have also used LinkedIn Profinder with some success. But they also started charging a larger fee and added more layers. Ideally, we are all looking for a simple process that truly connects professional and experienced employers with professional and experienced freelancers, and keeps the costs and hassle to a minimum. Good luck with the next steps, and please keep us all posted on your chosen direction.

Best,
