You are assuming there is something essentially “moral” about the operation of the EU, whereas it, like the money it exchanges, is a convenience that “works” only as long as those with more of the medium of exchange do not turn greedy but keep their focus on the reason for operating the union, which is a moral objective: that of a mutually beneficial system.
