I read this when it was first published and re-read it today. It strikes me that there is no more important discussion/training/sermon to be had than to build a society of people who grok empathy. You also inspired me to add to my journal a record of cliches I’m hearing now that I am finally, finally coming to terms with long-festering #MeToo story, courtesy of a Silicon Valley venture capitalist. As I have re-engaged with former colleagues, I’ve gotten to where I can accurately anticipate which one he or she will trot out. It challenges me to be better and do better for others who need me to just sit with them in their struggles. Thank you for this gift of a post.
