Ed…you are confusing individual rights with unequal representation. Every individual citizen should be guaranteed certain rights and freedoms regardless of how many other citizens approve of how that freedom is used. Gay marriage is a perfect example. Representation in a democratic government should, on the other hand, be equal for all citizens. Gerrymandering in the house, and the US Senate which disregards equal representation, are both defects in our system of government.
