I believe there are two issues at play, first of all as has been said many times before, the…
Louis Weeks

Louis, the liar, Weeks, writes:

“When the Democratic party controlled media decided to lie on Trump from the start, Trump I believe decided to play their game against them and just stir up all sorts of misrepresentations to strike back at them.”

What media does the Democratic Party control? What lies did the media tell about Trump? When the media gets facts wrong, it fires those involved and corrects itself. Does Trump? NEVER.

If Trump, or you, had any integrity, when the media gets something wrong about you…point it out and call them on it. Fine. But responding by telling your own, bigger lies about everything makes you the bigger miscreant. The media didn’t lie about Trump and Mexican rapists. They didn’t have to. All they had to do is repeat his words:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

First, Mexico, the country, is not sending anyone to the USA to cross the border illegally. Second, Trump has no idea what portion of the illegals are engaged in criminal activity beyond crossing the border. It turns out, illegals commit fewer crimes than citizens of the USA.

Louis goes on to write:

“The only reason Obamacare passed was because he lied to the American people that they would be allowed to keep doctors and insurance policies they liked. It was called the lie of the year, and it has hurt every American in one form or another.”

The only reason it passed? Not. Congress had to pass the bill. If their only concern was allowing people to keep doctors and insurance policies, they could have done that…at the expense of everything else in the bill. Congress kept moving the goal posts as they attempted to get a bill that was passable, but Obama kept saying the same old thing. He was wrong to do so. But he did finally admit he had been wrong to do so and apologized for it. When has Trump apologized for any of his lies? Admittedly, Trump tells so many lies, he would have no time to do anything else if he had to apologize for all of them.

As for your claim that Obamacare has hurt every American…prove it. How about people with pre-existing conditions who couldn’t get affordable health care? How about young adults staying on their parent’s health care? How about the millions who didn’t have health care insurance? Why are the republicans having so much trouble repealing Obamacare if no one likes it???

And Louis concludes with this little gem of nonsense:

“So all the little lies from Trump seem pretty insignificant compared to the massive and destructive lies told by other Presidents.”

What about Trump’s lie that over 3 million votes in the presidential election were illegal? A massive and destructive lie. Destructive of the faith in our election system. What about Trump winning Politifact’s lie of the year in 2015. Not for one lie, but for constant lying. And the lie of the year for 2016 was “Fake News”, most of which was written to benefit Trump, and much of which he supported.

The whole point of Thorhill’s article is that the constant lying by Trump is destructive of the social order necessary to a functioning country. That is a much worse than even the Bush administration’s lie about the reason for invading Iraq. Everyone should realize that president’s make mistakes and then lie about those mistakes. The difference here is that Trump lies constantly about everything. How can this country function when most people have no faith in the president?
