Models predict a trend. One year is not a trend. Also, every scientist understands that the models are not, and cannot be perfect. When temperatures stray some distance from the trend lines, that’s a signal that the current models have not accounted fully for some factor affecting temperature. If the current temperatures continue to stay above expected, the models will be modified after scientists examine what data is most responsible for throwing the model off.
