This Week in Music and More: “Speculators Gon’ Speculate”
Morning sunshines!

All kinds of crazy going on this week between Kanye’s MSG spectacle, all the things Beyoncé, and earnings reports. Did any of you watch the Dem debate last night? I was planning on it, but it turns out that in my early thirties, 9pm is past my bed time. So I had to read about it on the new Quartz news app instead, which I still haven’t decided whether or not I like. Anyway, let’s get back on topic here.
So, SoundCloud saw some losses and this piece from MBW doesn’t hold any punches. (Music Business Worldwide)
Everyone saw the times piece about whether we (Pandora) are seeking to be bought. As Karl put it, “Speculators gon’ speculate.” (NY Times)
Then we filed: (TechCrunch)
Some nice coverage from the Little Kids Rock event last week with comments from Alex. (Queens Tribute)
I found myself shamefully following the live coverage of Kanye’s album unveiling/fashion show, and wanting to know more. Gah. Why does he have such a hold on me? (New York Times) (This is where I confess I have been binge-watching the Kardashians lately. And also The People. v. O.J. This is a sincere cry for help.)
Since moving to the US, I have realized that absolutely everybody here watches the Super Bowl. I watched the Super Bowl. I like the Super Bowl. I like Peyton Manning. I was more excited about the halftime show. I don’t need to tell you how awkward Bey and Bruno made Chris Martin look.

It has got be exhausting coming up with these. So god damn cool.
And of course you’ll need to watch “Formation” if you are of the rare breed that hasn’t already.
That’s pretty much what I’ve got. Happy birthday Lincoln. Happy Friday munchkins. Buli out.
