Summary: If the Attorney General (AG) isn’t available to do their job, this is a list of people with specific titles who should take over.

More: The order is (1) Deputy AG (2) Associate AG (3) some other Officer the AG had previously picked (4)United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (5)United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois (6) United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri. Numbers 4–6 are new.

Noteworthy: Revokes Executive Order 13762 on January 13, 2017 (“Providing an Order of Succession Within the Department of Justice.” In that Executive Order, 4–6 were: (4) United States Attorney for the District of Columbia (5) United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois (6) United States Attorney for the Central District of California.
