Rolling back Obamacare

Summary of “Minimizing the Economic Burden of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Pending Repeal”. Executive Order 13765 on Jan 20, 2017. Trump’s first order.

Short: Those in the position to do so should find ways to help States/peoples/businesses/etc save healthcare on resources, but don’t overstep.

More: Trump Administration will “seek the prompt repeal” of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), but in the meantime… Those with “authorities and responsibilities under the Act” have “authority and discretion” to “waive, defer, grant exemption from, or delay the implementation of an provision or requirement of the Act” that would cause a “fiscal burden” to a State/person/agency/company/etc. These same authorities should help “provide greater flexibility to States” with healthcare programs. These authorities also need to “comply with the Administrative Procedure Act” and all other applicable laws, i.e. this isn’t conferring rights against current people/entities.
