Students Charges with Murder

David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers, Virginia Tech students, are charged with death of 13-year-old Nicole Lovell. Eisenhauer, a freshman, had sexual contact with the victim after meeting her online. Keepers admits to struggling with depression and cutting.

Liberty University Receives New Recruits

Liberty University just signed 18 new players for the 2016 football season. Coach Turner Gill says that “they’re tremendously competitive, very athletic and I think it’s going to fit with the mesh that we’re trying to find in our football team.” Among the new recruits are Aidan Burrough (6–3), Damian Bounds (6–2) and Ethan Crawford (6–3).

House of Delegates Passes Law

Virginia’s House of Delegates (Richmond, Va.) passed a law that public schools must have physical fitness for at least 20 minutes a day. Despite losing the vote 26–72, the opposition said that it was an unfair imposition on teachers. The rule applied to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
