Blackberry attempted the same thing in reverse: a tablet that was tethered to its smart phone. We were, back when it was introduced, still Blackberry fans, but couldn’t justify the extra expense of a dedicated tablet when Android tablets were available … and when we didn’t know how long we’d remain Blackberry users.

Same response here. It’s not “a watch” if it requires being tethered to an iPhone in order to function. It’s a Dick Tracy wrist communicator … And it’s a way to force assimilation into the iWorld. (“We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.”)
