When Wieden+Kennedy first got going in Oregon, they were just as famous for their conference room as their breakthrough ads: It had a stand-up table and no stools. Meetings tended to last no more than 10 minutes.

I have found meetings to be far more evil than calendars throughout my career. Fragile or out-sized egos, aggressive personalities, lack of team spirit, corporate climbers … all of that is what makes meetings so, so miserable.

It sounds as if you’re hoping to change toxic behaviors with a change of how the calendar is approached. Good luck. You’ll have to get all those egos and personalities to agree.
