Having a moment?

This week, Twitter launched a new feature called Twitter Moments. Here’s my take on it for using it in your business posting.

Moments gives you an easy, instant way to find the top stories happening on Twitter — -from sports and entertainment to news, memes and other trending topics. Moments is a highlight reel: a collection of tweets, images and videos that display a story from start to finish. Pulled together by a curation team at Twitter, it features contributed content from media sources such as Bleacher Report, Buzzfeed, Entertainment Weekly, Fox News, Getty Images, Mashable, MLB, NASA, New York Times, Vogue and the Washington Post.

Many business professionals understand the importance of Twitter as a key component to their business’s social media strategy. Twitter Moments provides you with a stream of what’s hot and current, and many of these posts include #hashtags.

How is this helpful?

You get a source of interesting and diverse content to supplement your posting. Also if you can incorporate any of the Moments #hashtags into your posts in a relevant way, your viewing universe increases and this gives you the potential to gain new followers.

Here’s one idea for a Twitter post using popular #hashtags:

My #MondayMotivation is to learn all about #cloudstorage on cloud.com

Twitter is loaded with informative, useful content. Be a little creative, and you’ll find that you can use much of this content to supplement your Twitter business strategy and grow your following.
