Nowadays we have a lot of content to watch, read, and listen to, most of them are poor content where we can’t improve our skills, we just scroll on infinitely without learning anything.

Each day becomes harder fighting against this kind of content but if you are reading it I believe that you want to change this and start to choose the best options for developing your skills with good content.

Many times we get ourselves giving up one course to start another because the other brightened our eyes and this turns into a vicious and nonstop cycle.

This article has a goal to show up for you, how habits and practices using the Pareto Principle can help you achieve your goals.

What is the Pareto Principle?

The Pareto Principle is a methodology created by Vilfredo Pareto when he observed that 80% of our results are provided by 20% of our actions. The secret here is how we can find out where we need to put our forces to provide our 80% results.

As I mentioned there’s a lot of content spread on the internet, for this reason, it’s normal for us to feel confused searching for content to improve our skills, so we need to have a clear focus on where we want to go and which skills we’d like to improve today. Having a clear focus can avoid shallow content and prioritize the good content that we’d like to consume.

When we settle our goal we need to start removing all the hindrances nearby us, remove the poor content from our lives, and keep away from social media and bad influences (Habits Atomics is a good book to help you improve this habit).

How can I use it in my Life?

Did you know which habits push you to your best version?

What do you do daily to ensure everything in your body works well?

What habits do you need to change now?

These questions can help you understand more about yourself, and what you need to focus on now.

So, You should know that you can’t maintain your focus on two things at the same time therefore our time is finite.

For example, no one can take care of your children if your health is bad, so you need to care about your body and your mind every day because if it collapses, everything collapses together therefore health no doubt becomes 20% of our effort.

The Pareto Principle helps us maintain the focus and make clear our way, but how can we get more results using this approach?

Every day we can learn about a new topic, technology, languages, etc…

Here you can ask: What are the 20% of the new skill that I need to learn about, to reach 80% of the results?

In your team, What is the 20% that you deliver for the company that gets 80% from the results?

I know you have a project that you started to do but you never launched its refinement infinitely, in this case, for example, you did 80%, the rest you can deliver with the app in production testing with your customer.

Thinking about the pain of the problem will help you to find your results soon and the successful way.

If you are a leader or expect to be one, I recommend my post about Five lessons I learned with Ted Lasso

there I’m talking about what lessons I learned with Ted in his TV show and how I use these lessons daily with my team
