The distance to the element can be easily be determine by knowing the speed of the sound through the particular part and the time taken by the sound to come back to the sending unit.
Radiographic Testing (RT) — In Radiographic Testing, penetrating radiation is made to pass through the test sample and fall on a medium behind the sample. If there is crack then that would show up in the medium receiving the radiation. In case of less dense material, X ray radiation is used and in case of denser materials, gamma radiation is used.
