In North America, there are 5 Great Lakes that is popular with its scenery and uniqueness. Among those 5, there is one that has more particularity compared to other. That one is Lake Erie. The Fish
Lake Erie can be said as the lake with more fish, compared to other Great Lakes. The main reason is this lake has right temperature and weather, which make plankton can growth and reproduction at the best pace. There are also many fishes that can be categorized as introduced species, which come from other area to live in this lake, such as Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Coho Salmon and many more. With many types of fish you can find in this lake, we can say that this lake is one of the best freshwater fishing spot.

Sport fishing maybe is the safest way to fish in this lake. In the past, many people used commercial fishing method to catch many fishes for commercial purpose from this lake. The result is increasing the pollution on this lake, which endanger the life of many types of fish in Lake Erie. Therefore, because of this reason, government has made strict rule that limited the commercial fishing. There is an only small community that still does it, on the level that won’t endanger the ecosystem of this lake.
On the other hand, sport fishing, where we catch fish just for fun and release it back, has increased dramatically these days. It is because the lake provides the challenge that all fisher want to try. With lot of special fish like mentioned above, this fishing activity has become the most popular activity here. However, there is one thing that every fisher has to pay more attention, which is the invisible country border line. In winter, Lake Erie is freezing. You can try ice fishing here. The ice is so thick that you can even make bonfire on top of it. However, with today’s climate and unpredictable weather, everyone that tries this method must be careful. There was incident in the past where the ice suddenly breaks because of the weather change, which leads to one victim. But, overall, Lake Erie is still great place for fishing.
