I was puzzled by the omission of any mention of Ash Maurya, who has focused on the idea of testing the riskiest assumption first ever since his 2011 book Running Lean — a book Eric Ries mentioned in The Lean Startup and which is part of O’Reilley’s Startup series. Blog after blog since then has quoted Ash about this, he has talked about it in many webinars, screencasts and conferences, and he helps people apply it through his teaching and tools.
