You’ve familiarized yourself with the world of RPA and taken a deep dive into UiPath’s products. Let’s begin by setting up your workspace — installing UiPath Studio.

1. System Check: Is Your PC Ready?

Before diving in, ensure your PC meets the requirements:

Operating System: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 (all 64-bit). Server versions like Windows Server 2016 or 2012 are also suitable.

.NET Framework: Make sure you have .NET Framework 4.7.2 or higher.

Hardware: A minimum of 4 GB RAM (though 8 GB is recommended), and at least 2 GB of free disk space.

2. Where to Get UiPath Studio?

Official Website: Head over to the UiPath official website . Clicking the “Try UiPath Free” button will open the registration page.

This page is for a 60-day trial for businesses. Therefore, on this page, we will continue by clicking the “Get Automation Cloud for Community” link at the bottom.

On the page that opens, you complete the registration to UiPath by entering the email address. After creating the account, you must verify the e-mail. Then you create your Orchestrator instance after entering some information such as Full Name, Country.

3. The Download Process: Getting Your Copy

  • After creating your Orchestrator instance you will navigated to Orchestrator interface.
  • At the right-side you will find a “Download” button. So click on it to start downloading the installer.

4. Installation: Setting Up Your Workshop

  • Run the Installer: Once downloaded, navigate to your download folder and double-click the UiPath Studio setup file.
  • Follow the Prompts: The setup wizard will guide you. You need to select “Community” version and mostly, it’s about clicking “Next”, but ensure you read any terms of service or agreements.
  • Choose Installation Type: If prompted, choose between ‘Studio’ and ‘StudioX’. For our purposes, ‘Studio’ is what you want. It’s tailored for developers like you!
  • Complete the Installation: Click “Install” and give the setup a few moments to do its magic.

5. First Launch: Entering Your Workshop

  • Open UiPath Studio: Once installed, find UiPath Studio in your Start menu or on your desktop and open it.
  • Sign In or Activate: If you’re using the Community Edition, you might need to sign in with the account details you provided during the download. Alternatively, you may be given a license key to activate the product.
  • Exploration Time: Once in, take a moment to explore. You’ll see options to start a new project, open a recent project, or explore templates.

6. Keep it Updated:

UiPath Studio frequently receives updates with new features, improvements, and bug fixes. Always keep an eye out for updates (usually a notification in the software) and ensure you’re using the latest version for the best experience.

Conclusion

Congratulations! Your workspace, UiPath Studio, is now set up. Like any tool, it might seem overwhelming at first, but with time, exploration, and practice, you’ll be building automation masterpieces in no time. Happy automating, and may your code always run error-free! 🚀🔧
