7 Fiction Books That Change The Way You Think
Darius Foroux

My favorite novel is Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. I first read it when I was a grad student in my early 20s and I now realize it was the perfect time to discover it. Heller’s hero Yossarian tries to escape from the insanity all around him. Members of his unit are trying to turn a profit on World War II or playing games with other people’s lives. While his escape plans are constantly foiled, he realizes you never give up fighting the powers that be. To me, this is a great life lesson: never give up, never give in to greed, insanity, peer pressure. Hold on to your values and never let anyone take them away from you. A great lesson reinforced by the fact that the book is laugh-out-loud funny throughout.
