Creations

Sunken deep in a gaze,
My soul met yours
And encountered something too soon.
It was here that my eyes caught a swift, abstruse glance
At the very center of your being;
Never before seen,
Nor heard,
Nor understood.
I saw you, and I saw who you belong to.
It was here that my heart cried:
“Forgive me, again. I’ve gotten too close.”
How do I love him with the purest delicacy, Father?
When my flesh desires to graze his entirety,
Not leaving a single trace behind
Like a farmer;
Raking the ground to sow his seeds,
Zealously covering every piece of his land.
This is what it’s like, then, when two souls unite:
Both of your creations combine,
Like two colorful beams of energy
Twirling and dancing together animately
Maybe this is why they call it a “worship to God”
Your core trembles,
And you are utterly defenseless
And there is a permanent touch from the other that your heart will never want to abandon,
And there is a sort of remembrance that will forever link you both,
And without the existence of a covenant,
You are wholly exposed
To total uncertainty.
My soul met yours in dishonorable timing.
But I am sure…I am so sure…
Be still, oh my soul.
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made…” — Romans 1:20
